I are often asked why we listed Darktrace in London. As a company founded and headquartered in Cambridge, the UK felt like the natural place for our first public offering. It has a formidable cybersecurity heritage that we are proud to build on, from Bletchley Park to GCHQ, as well as a broader history of technological innovation, from Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace to Alan Turing.
Many have questioned whether there is sufficient expertise in London to put an accurate valuation on innovative companies like Darktrace. I like to remember that even though the actual listing is considered the “end” or “end” of a process, it’s really just the beginning.
