Kane Tanaka died in Japan at the age of 119. Born in 1903, Tanaka married a rice shop owner at the age of 19 and worked in the family shop until she was 103. She survived cancer twice and went through a series of historic events and survived two times world wars and the Spanish flu in 1918 – as well as the Covid-19 pandemic.
