A slightly subjective assessment of today’s weather on a scale from 0 to 10.

6/10: Not a terrible day with lots of sun. But it’s a struggle to reach 60 degrees, and a gust of wind adds a bit of chills.

  • Today: Mostly to partly sunny, windy. Highlights: Upper 50s to close to 60.
  • Tonight: Clear skies, windy and cool. Lower: 30s.
  • Tomorrow: Mostly sunny, slightly cloudy. Highlights: Close to 60.

We are back to cooler weather today and tomorrow with lots of sunshine but a windy breeze. We keep the sun and lose the wind on Friday and Saturday with also a warm up. Our next chance of rain, and so far it is only the chance of a few showers, comes first on Sunday.

Today (Wednesday): The cooler air is noticeable this morning as temperatures start in the 40s. The sky is mostly to partly sunny during the day, but any heat from the end of the April sun is offset by gusts from the northwest around 30-35 mph. It makes afternoon highs below average in the upper 50s to almost 60 feel several degrees cooler than that. Confidence: High

Tonight: The wind becomes less windy during the evening, but remains fairly windy overnight. Lower falls back to the cool 30s under clear skies. We could even fall to almost freezing in our remote northern and western suburbs. Confidence: High

Tomorrow Thursday): Temperatures remain on the cool side, but mostly sunny skies and high temperatures near 60 degrees are not bad. A steady breeze continues to add a bit of wind cooling, but it does not blow quite as it does today, with gusts from the northwest around 25-30 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: The wind finally settles when we get to the evening. Otherwise, we are mostly clear and cool again with lows in the mid 30s to low 40s. Confidence: Medium-High

Friday and Saturday looks like a couple of pleasantly mild days with partly to mostly sunny skies and light winds. Friday high levels should reach the mid 60s, followed by Friday night lows in the 40s, and then Saturday highs in the upper 60s to almost 70. Saturday night lows fall back to 40s again. Confidence: Medium

Sunday could see rising clouds but should still be at least partly sunny. Highest goal aims at almost 70 with the possibility of a few afternoon or evening showers. Confidence: Low-Medium
