The Wonder Twins movie has reportedly been canceled. The news is particularly shocking, as casting updates are quite recent, with KJ Apa and Isabel May joining as leads. According to the CBR, the crew will receive updates on the cancellation before production can begin.

Wonder twins was announced in February 2022 with Black Adam author Adam Sztykiel was to write and direct, along with Temple Hills Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey produce. The film had also already cast its lead roles, with Riverdale star KJ Apa and 1883 star Isabel May put the headline as Zan and May respectively. Casting for the film’s villains was reportedly also underway when the project was canceled.

This is shocking news, but is in line with recent reports. Warner Bros. Discovery wants to reshape the way they release DC movies. I can not imagine what the MCU looks like for someone working with DC Films or their owner Warner Bros. Discovery.

I felt that the decisions and quality of WB with their DC movies were inconsistent. But this tone and reception is a reflection of the reception of the DC Comics brand itself. This feels like the beginning of a DC Reboot and for us comic book fans the beginning of a DC crisis. I do not mind Warner Bros. trying to correct their film release strategy. I hope they plan to copy Marvel in one way and that they plan their story and their releases for 5-10 years at a time.

That’s all I have for this …
