The Russian president has had two sons with a gymnast’s lover Alina Kabaeva, it has been claimed.
The first of Vladimir Putin’s children with the gold winner, who was 31 years younger, was allegedly born in secret in Switzerland and under high security in 2015 – says a source connected to the obstetrician.
The second son was born in Moscow in 2019 with the same specialist who flew to Russia for the birth, the Swiss newspaper Sonntagszeitung reported.
Putin, 69, has long denied a relationship with Olympic gold medalist Kabaeva, now 38.
He has hidden the alleged secret family from voters – and was not present at any of the births.
But the report appears to confirm long-term speculation about a Putin-Kabaeva family – although previous allegations have suggested the second child was a twin.
It also indicates that Kabaeva is the secret Russian first lady – but she has still not been sanctioned, in the middle of the war in Ukraine.
The source of the new report is said to be a personal friend of Kabaeva, who also knows the obstetrician – an unnamed Soviet-born doctor who has known Putin for more than three decades and a longtime Swiss citizen who emigrated from Russia.
The newspaper reported: ‘Our source clearly states: “Alina’s relationship with Putin existed.
“Their children – two sons – are Putin’s children.
‘Alina had no other relationship. It would have been too dangerous for her. “
The birth doctor ‘maintained a trusting relationship with Putin’, according to the report.
In 2015, the Kremlin denied the birth.
It was Putin’s decision that the second son should be born in Moscow, the newspaper reported.
Kabaeva is believed to have started his relationship with Putin in 2007.
She previously won gold at the Olympics in 2000 before being ruled out in 2001 for passing a doping test.
Recent rumors suggested that she and her young children were hiding in a secluded Swiss hut for the war.
Russia’s military’s terrifying weapons of mass destruction are evolving right now
But ten days ago – after being unseen for four months – she reappeared in Moscow.
Representatives of the Swiss government say there is no indication that Kabaeva has been in the country recently.
Kabaeva appeared in public for the first time since the war started in Ukraine in Moscow last weekend and wore a wedding ring.
It followed rumors that she had hidden in Switzerland – or in a high-tech Siberian nuclear bunker.
The Russians were hit by Kabaeva’s new look last weekend, sparking rumors of recent cosmetic surgery.
The country’s Cosmopolitan said ‘something has really changed in Kabaeva’s face’, adding that ‘the legendary athlete was noticeably more beautiful’.
But publications are wary of not linking her to Putin.
Putin’s imprisoned opposition leader Alexei Navalny has demanded sanctions against her.
Rumors first linked her romantically to Putin as long ago as in 2008, when she was a pro-Kremlin MP.
Putin has two officially recognized children – Maria, 37, and Katerina, 35, both from first wife Lyudmila.
Dr. Maria Vorontsova, a year younger than Kabaeva, was born when the Russian president was a KGB spy in Germany, is an expert in rare genetic diseases in children.
She is a leading researcher at the National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology in the Russian Ministry of Health.
Her divorced sister Katerina is the deputy director of the Institute of Mathematical Research in Complex Systems at Moscow State University.
She is a former ‘rock’ n ‘roll’ dancer.
Both daughters have been sanctioned by the West, unlike Kabaeva, and Putin’s unrecognized ‘love child’ Luiza Rozova, 19.
Luiza is the daughter of cleaner who became multimillionaire Svetlana Krivonogikh, 45, now co-owner of a large Russian bank, one of the country’s richest women with an estimated 74 million pounds of financial and real estate wealth.
Putin – who in 2013 announced his divorce from his wife Lyudmila, a former Aeroflot flight attendant – has previously said: ‘I have a privacy where I do not allow interference.
‘It must be respected.’
