US Marshals Offers Reward After Murder-to-Rental Suspect Escape with Missing Detective

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering $ 10,000 for information leading to the arrest of an Alabama inmate who escaped from prison, as well as the location of a missing detective.

Casey White, 38, escaped Lauderdale County Jail Friday and was last seen with Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office Assistant Director of Corrections Vicki White on April 29. The two have no relationship.

A Facebook post from the sheriff’s office says Vicki White was last seen leaving the jail with Casey White at 6 p.m. 9:30 on April 29, and has not been seen since.

Casey White is described as 6 feet 9 inches and weighs 260 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said during a news conference Friday that Vicki White took Casey White to a courtroom for a mental health evaluation.

When a booking staff member for the jail called Vicki White around noon. 15.30 on April 29, her phone went directly to voicemail and the officer noted that Vicki White had not returned to jail.

An investigation revealed that the inmate did not reach the courthouse and no evaluations were planned.

Casey White was charged with murder, manslaughter and burglary in connection with Connie Ridgeway’s death in 2015 at her home in Rogersville, Alabama. Connie Ridgeway was 58 years old, AL.com reported.

Casey White had confessed to the murder and was awaiting trial in prison. according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

He is believed to be a serious threat to the public.
