Ukraine on Friday admits to having suffered “serious losses” in fighting in the country’s eastern matches, but added that Russia is “colossal”.

The admission comes when the UK Department of Defense tweeted that “due to strong Ukrainian resistance, Russian territorial gains have been limited and achieved at significant cost to Russian forces.”

“We have serious losses, but the losses of the Russians are much, much greater … They have colossal losses,” Ukrainian Presidential Adviser Oleksiy Arestovych told Reuters.

RUSSIA INVADES UKRAINE: LIVE UPDATES

A video released Friday by the Ukrainian military allegedly shows a Russian tank in flames along the side of the road.

“It feels good to burn. That’s how Ukrainian soldiers continue to destroy Russian occupants along with armor equipment,” it said.

That UK says battle over the Donbas region “remains Russia’s main strategic focus for achieving its stated goal of securing control of the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.”

Ukraine’s military said on its Facebook page that Russian forces were firing artillery, mortars and rocket-propelled grenade launchers at its positions in the Donetsk and Tavriya regions to prevent regrouping of troops.

“Russian occupiers continue to block Ukrainian units in Mariupol, near Azovstal [steel] plant, “it added.
