Two people found dead in apartments in south Manchester as the investigation continues

A man and a woman who were found dead in neighboring apartments have been named as David Harry and Monika Eisen.

An investigation is underway after the two bodies were discovered on Princess Road in Moss Side on Saturday (April 23). Police were first called to the scene around 4.20pm with reports that a woman had been found dead by her neighbor.

Barely three hours later, officers were then called to a neighboring apartment out of concern for a man’s welfare. Ambulances then discovered a man dead inside.

While the investigation continues at the scene today (Monday), a spokesman for Manchester Coroners’ Court confirmed that records have been made of both Mr Harry’s death and Mrs Eisen’s death with the forensic pathologist.

Touching tribute has been left on the spot outside the apartments, close to the intersection with Bowes Street, for both the man and the woman. Police tapes are still in place near the Little Rock restaurant.

The latest update, released in Greater Manchester Police in the early hours of Sunday, stated that ‘direct physical involvement from third parties’ had been ruled out and that there was no major risk to society. The investigation into the cause of death for both the man and the woman is underway.

In a statement issued to Manchester Evening News yesterday, Cadent Gas confirmed that there were ‘no problems’ with the gas-related infrastructure in both properties.

Residents living in the dense community told of their shock when police and forensic scientists came down to the apartments over the weekend. The neighbor who discovered Monika in her apartment while she was cooking for her daily described her as being very popular in the area.

“Everyone knew her because she always wanted to sit outside,” she said. “People would love to come to talk to her and buy a drink for her at the store.”

David’s brother said his family had not been able to contact him for a few days and family members broke into his apartment to find him when police and ambulance personnel greeted the woman next door. “We’re just completely shocked,” he said, “we have no idea how it happened or what happened, it’s just such a shock and so sad.”

GMP Superintendent Mark Kenny said: “The deaths may not be related, but at this stage the exact cause of death can not be determined. However, we can rule out direct physical involvement from third parties. I would like to assure the community that there is no major risk to this. point in time.

“Detectives are now investigating the circumstances to determine the cause of death and will remain at the scene while the investigation is ongoing.”
