The Saudi Food and Drug Administration recommends preparing the famous Ramadan Sobia drink at home for this reason

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Sobia is among the most popular Ramadan juices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially in Mecca, Medina and Jeddah, according to the official website of the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”.

Sobia drink is prepared from barley, dry bread, oats, raisins or tamarind, and after filtration, specific amounts of sugar, cardamom and cinnamon are added in addition to colored materials.

And the Saudi Food and Drug Administration advised in a tweet through its official account on “Twitter” to prepare this drink at home.

Sobia’s production and packaging conditions at street vendors may lack sanitary conditions and are healthier and have lower sugar content when made at home.

The tweet confirmed that the Sobia drink does not contain ethyl alcohol, explaining that the small percentage of ethanol in this drink is due to natural chemical reactions.
