The Emirates Red Crescent Authority implemented the seventh phase of the campaign to combat eye diseases in the Kingdom of Morocco, under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council of Maternity and Childhood, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation , honorary president of the Red Crescent Authority “Mother of the Emirates” ». The campaign aims to provide health care to thousands of cases suffering from health symptoms in the villages and remote Moroccan regions.
The campaign program includes performing gray star surgeries and implanting lenses, using advanced surgical techniques, in addition to performing early medical detection for glaucoma patients and providing the necessary medication and glasses for the campaign’s goals.
The campaign has so far included medical examinations for more than 8,692 cases and 3,384 surgeries to remove cataracts. The current phase, which is being carried out in the Jerada region of eastern Morocco, included 250 surgeries involving chief physicians and ophthalmologists.
Since its launch, the campaign has also included field visits to dozens of Moroccan schools, the study of thousands of students and glasses for those with vision problems.
Dr. Muhammad Ateeq Al-Falahi, Secretary-General of the Authority, stressed that the campaign comes in support of the initiatives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima, to reduce health disorders among segments and vulnerable groups. The United Arab Emirates is committed to the sustainability of giving by implementing ambitious development programs and projects, providing essential services in health, education, social issues and improving the conditions of motherhood and childhood. He pointed out that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima’s various initiatives represent a strong message of solidarity with the humanitarian situation in various arenas.
Al-Falahi said the authority attaches great importance to this campaign and is working to strengthen its activities and expand the umbrella of its recipients in various Moroccan regions and rural areas far from the main cities.
He stressed that the Commission has always been a fundamental supporter and a strong supporter of the Moroccan people.
