The Omen prequel film under development from Arkasha Stevenson

The Omen, prequel

Together with The exorcist, Warned was one of the biggest supernatural horror movies of the 1970s, and very much so That Exorcist, Warned will also receive a delayed prequel movie. Deadline has reported that 20th Century Studios is under development The first notice, a prequel to the original 1976 film directed by Richard Donner. Arkasha Stevenson will make her debut as an instructor on the project and will also rewrite the script with Tim Smith.

Arkasha Stevenson is best known for directing episodes of Channel zero, Legion, Briarpatchand Brand new Cherry Taste. The original Omen movie starred Gregory Peck as Robert Thorn, an American diplomat who comes to believe that his child is the prophet of the Antichrist. After his biological child dies shortly after birth, Thorn is persuaded to replace him with a child whose mother is also dead, all without telling his wife. As the young Damien grows, a series of mysterious events and violent deaths occur around the family. There has been one About one prequel for a number of years where Antonio Campos once had to direct after a script by Ben Jacoby. The art of magic screenwriters Chad and Carey W. Hayes revealed back in 2020 that they had written a prequel to Warned that had been mixed away when 20th Century Fox merged with Disney. It could be the script that Arkasha Stevenson and Tim Smith need to rewrite.

While Warned was not nearly as successful as The exorcist was, it spawned several successors, including Damien: Omen II, Omen III: The Final Conflictand Omen IV: The Awakening. It was also restarted in 2006 with Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles in the lead roles. While I doubt it Warned really need a prequel, I’m probably a fan of the franchise that I would be willing to try it.
