“She was sitting outside in front of her chair and getting a drink. She was out there last night. I can not believe it.” A few hours after police attended, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) was called over a concern for the welfare of a man in a neighboring apartment around 7.10pm.

Police say paramedics were the first to enter the neighboring apartment and found a man dead inside. The neighbor said those living nearby, ‘no idea’ how the two had died.

“It was when a private ambulance came after her that they found the man,” she said. “I had never met him, but he apparently lived in the apartment next door. We have no idea what happened, they will not tell us.”

Officers say there is no perceived risk to the wider public. Firefighters were later called to the scene Saturday night after a reported gas leak and they had to evacuate nearby stores for the safety of residents.
