The ‘forgotten’ roller coaster disaster at Battersea amusement park

On May 30, 1972, Big Dipper in Battersea Park in south-west London crashed, killing five children and injuring 13 others.

Nearly 50 years later, survivors say the tragedy has been forgotten and call for a permanent memorial at the site of the ride.
