The final camel racing festival in Al Wathba is overseen by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and is organized by the Camel Racing Federation, led by His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Adviser for His Highness, the President of the State.
The final Al Wathba Festival represents one of the most important legacies in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as it is the true building block of all festivals, completing 42 years of success in extension of the founder’s approach. , the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace. The Festival’s Higher Organizing Committee, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Adviser to His Highness, State President and President of the Camel Racing Federation, completed the final preparations for the festival by completing the process of registering the participating camels through Smart Camel program.
The current edition of the festival witnesses 331 races during its 13 days, including 113 races for the hybridization of His Highness the Sheikhs, 208 races for group camels and 10 races for the legacy race developed by the organizing committee in recent seasons to preserve the identity of the cultural heritage.
The organizing committee assigned 70 rounds to adopt facts during the second and third days. On the second day there will be 28 rounds where the winners will receive valuable financial prizes from 100,000 dirhams, while 42 rounds will be held on the third day where mounts compete in the first 4 symbols of the period. In the evening, in addition to the financial prize , at one and a half million dirhams, respectively.
On the fourth and fifth day, competitions are held for the age of meetings to cross the group and the elders, through 72 rounds, as 42 rounds are held on the fourth day to cross the group. The fifth day testifies to 30 rounds for the elders, and the competition for 4 symbols.
The competitions will move on the sixth and seventh day of broadcast at a distance of 6 km in the southern field, including 8 symbols on the sixth day of the group hybrid and 4 symbols of the sheikh hybrid.
The eighth and ninth days, May 9 and 10, will witness the Houl and Zamool competitions for camels, sheiks and society, which will be held over 50 rounds, where the camels compete to achieve the law and valuable financial prizes.
As for the age of Al-Thanaya competitions, the next May 11 starts for the group competitions through 28 rounds competing for 8 symbols in the evening period, while the next day the Al-Thaniya competitions for the hybrid sheiks are held per. 24 rounds, including 4 matches in the evening period, competing for 4 symbols.
On May 13, attention will be drawn to the group’s Al-Houl and Zamoul competitions during the evening period, which is considered to be the tribes’ strongest crossbreed.
The festival concludes on May 14 with 4 rounds of Hawl and Zamoul for the Sheikhs Han, who are the strongest and biggest ever. The first half is awarded to local Zamool, and its prize is a stereotype, in addition to half a million dirhams, while the second half is awarded to Hawl, and its prize is a dagger, in addition to one million dirhams.
As for the third round, the battle for the open chief’s rifle and 2 million dirhams will be witnessed as the curtain goes down for the competitions with the strongest festival races for the open head and the competition for the most expensive prize, the sword, in addition to the economic prize of 3 million dirhams.

The inheritance race kicks off the competitions on the first day of the age group from 15 to 20 years, and the winners of the inheritance races will receive cash prizes of up to 100,000 dirhams, and the rest of the places from second to tenth will receive valuable cash prizes.

The organizing committee awarded 52 symbols during the festival days to the winners of the main races during the competitions, including 16 symbols for camel sheik competitions and 36 symbols for group camel competitions.

The festival launched its first launches in 1980, and participation in it occupies a special place among camel owners due to its great historical and heritage.
