Dozens of Tesco home delivery customers have seen their orders canceled today due to a ‘system problem’.
The supermarket giant said the problem was that “some” delivery orders were canceled and customers were encouraged to rebook.
Many have taken to social media in anger after Tesco customer service contacted them about the issues.
Tesco delivery problems
A spokesman said the chain was “really sorry” for the cancellations, caused by a “technical issue”.
One customer wrote: “No communication from Tesco at all. Won’t respond to my requests. Absolutely terrible service. No doubt I’ll be taking my money in the future.”
Another said: “So it looks like Tesco have canceled all deliveries and not told their customers?
“Now I’m going to the supermarket (not Tesco of course) as I’m going to use it tonight for a party tomorrow.”
Why did I give @Tesco another chance?? Delivery deadline at 14.00 e-mail cancellation at 12.56 p.m. No explanation even.
“We hope this does not cause you any inconvenience and hope to see you shopping with us again soon.”
Yes it does and no I don’t think you want to. #last straw

Responding on Twitter, Tesco said: “I’m so sorry your order has been canceled today, it’s not something we ever want to do. The problem today was caused by a system issue.
“You have not been charged for your order and I would recommend going online and rebooking an available seat.”
But some demanded compensation for the delays.

One angry social media user wrote: “Communication from Tesco has been terrible. Not only that, customer service email is no longer monitored and 0800 has no delays. Compensation please.”
A Tesco spokesman apologized for the disruption and said customers should rebook.
@Tesco my food delivery was canceled by tesco newmarket today without a call or email to tell me and they cannot reschedule. Really bad service, and not the first time!

“Due to a technical issue we have had to cancel some online orders that were due to be delivered today,” they said.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Customers who are affected can use our app or website to rebook at a time that suits them.”
