Update: Sony is now sold out of consoles. Be sure to follow our PS5 restock guide for news on the next drop.
Sony Direct launches the last week of April with a PS5 rebuild open to the public. You can queue to get PS5 for $ 499 via this link or PS5 Digital for $ 399 via this link. Remember that even if you have a long waiting time, it is worth sticking to the queue as you never know when your waiting time may be halved.
Today’s surprising refill was first discovered by console tracking Wario64. In the last few days, Sony has held more public PS5 reruns than it has for most or in 2022. It’s still relatively difficult to score a PS5, but we’ve seen a slight increase in console drops.

How to get invitations from Sony Direct
Sometimes Sony Direct only has inventory for invited guests. (The invitations are sent via e-mail). Sony last year opened up for registration for these events to the public. Now anyone can sign up for Sony Direct PS5 rebuilds which are invitations only.
Alternatively, you would like to have an active Sony Direct account and make sure you have notifications set to “yes”. Setting up a Sony Direct account is easy. You can sign up via this link here. Once you’ve created an account, you’ll want to add your address and billing information. Having this information on file will make things easier if you manage to get a PS5 console in your cart.
To activate messages from Sony Direct, log in to your account, click “My Profile” and then click the “edit” button from your profile page. You will then be redirected to a new account settings page. From this page, select “notifications” in the left column and then make sure you sign up to receive news and special offers from Sony.
Keep in mind that this trick does not guarantee that you will receive an invitation in time for the next PS5 drop, but it should increase your chances of the next exclusive Sony Direct PS5 reload event.
How to get a PS5 if you have not received an invitation
Usually after a refill of the PS5 for invitations only, Sony tends to open its virtual queue to the public. However, this is not always a guarantee. (There have been cases where the dealer has been completely sold out). If there are additional consoles, there will likely be a refill for the general public, after the invitation-only event has ended. (Usually an hour or two after the start of the original drip). Of course, you can bookmark our page, and we’ll keep you updated on the latest PS5 rebuilding news from Sony Direct and all major US retailers.
What to do when you first stand in line
When you are in the virtual queue, you get an estimated waiting time. All waiting times vary and there is a good chance that you have “more than an hour” waiting time. If so, do not despair. Your status may change quickly and you may have a shorter waiting time than estimated. (For example, after waiting 20 minutes for a previous PS5 recharge event, our time was cut from “more than an hour” to just 15 minutes).
Additionally, you may be prompted to resolve a captcha. (A simple challenge / question to make sure you are not a bot). It usually requires you to select a radio box. As a result, you want to make sure your browser tab stays prominent, because if it is not, you could miss your captcha challenge and you could lose your place in the queue.
