Smash Bros.-like Lego Brawls are coming to consoles in September

We already knew that Lego Brawls – a minifigure fighting game that was previously launched on Apple Arcade – was to be relaunched this summer on consoles, and now we have a release date: September 2, 2022.

Released by Bandai Namco, the fighter is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S, where the Smash Bros.-like fight will let the “Minifigure chaos begin”. Here is a new teaser to celebrate:

As Tom explained at the time the gates were announced, the idea here is to fight – solo or with up to eight network players – and collect minifigures, which you can then customize to create your own hero of your choice. You can then take the said hero and try to tackle the game’s global rankings.

“Dream up the ultimate Minifigure brawlers and bask your way through all your favorite Lego themes in the first team action brawler in the Lego universe,” teases the store description. Play with friends at home or around the world and see how you perform against the competition.

From the sparkling shores of Barracuda Bay, to the water-filled caves of the Ninjago Seabound, to a dusty salon in the Wild West and the mythical Monkie Kid jungle, you can battle with all your favorite Lego themes! Collect unlockable minifigures, power-ups and emotions along the way. ”

As it is superficial these days, there is also a “battle royale-style game mode” where it is each-player-for-itself.

It was recently reported that Lego had chosen to end its console gaming exclusivity agreement with regular developer TT Games – which recently launched the hugely successful Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. A number of Lego sports games from publisher 2K are apparently also on the way.
