Sean Connery’s property Picasso is expected to raise £ 15 million at auction for charity

Stephane Connery, his stepson and an art consultant, told The Sunday Post: “All the works of art he collected, he was heavily invested in both emotionally and financially.

“There was nothing he owned that he did not admire. He had a Matisse and several Picassos, one of which he sold in the early 2000s.”

The deceased actor’s family said the proceeds from the sale would help support Scottish organizations working in areas he loved, including sports and maritime conservation.

Stephane said: “We – his family – are now working to create a fund that will offer support to organizations that reflect Sean’s interests and passions, and serve to keep his legacy of integrity, opportunity and efficiency alive.

“This effort will be focused on Scotland, where Sean was born, and the Bahamas, where he lived for more than 30 years and loved as his homeland.”

Stephane Connery said the Edinburgh-born actor’s marriage in 1975 to Micheline Roquebrune, an internationally exhibited painter, had “polished his extraordinary sense of art”.
