San Jose police have released a surveillance video of a suspect believed to have kidnapped a 3-month-old baby from his grandmother’s apartment Monday afternoon while she was unloading groceries.
The unidentified man entered the San Francisco Bay Area home in the 1000 block of Elm Street around noon. 1 p.m., and took the child, Brandon Cuellar, from a one-bedroom, San Jose police station. Christian Camarillo said during a news conference Monday night.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect walking down the sidewalk with a black sling covered by a white blanket.
“The family does not recognize this suspect,” police said wrote on Twitter.
Brandon’s mother was at work and was with her grandmother at the time he was kidnapped, Camarillo told reporters. The baby was taken within minutes while his grandmother unloaded groceries. Police said Brandon’s father is in jail.
Police said no Amber Alert has been issued because the authorities do not have a vehicle description or number plate. An Amber Alert will be activated when investigators receive the information.
Brandon was last seen wearing a white long-sleeved onesie with dinosaurs.
Police described the suspect as a dark-skinned Latin American man with shirt hair. He was wearing black trousers and a dark blue shirt with gray shoes, a gray baseball cap and a black face mask.

Early Tuesday morning, police said the FBI assisted in the investigation.
“FBI officers and agents go door to door in the Elm area [Street] and surrounding streets in an attempt to locate witnesses or other information related to this case, “police said said.
San Jose is located about 50 miles from San Francisco.
