Residents and team members celebrate with a birthday cake

Residents of a nursing home in Sale enjoyed a day of celebration to mark the home’s second anniversary.
The team at the Oakfield Croft Nursing Home did everything for a special birthday party where owls and snakes took part in the fun.
On the day, as well as the exotic mobile zoo that brought meerkats and skunks, residents were also pampered with a BBQ and had the opportunity to turn their feet to live music from Joe Cocks, who performed songs from decades.
The team also decorated the party with the 50s theme and everyone could enjoy the festivities in the sunshine as well as a festive cake.
Joyce, a resident of the nursing home, said, “It was the best experience I’ve ever had, and my favorite animal was definitely the snake.”
The head of the house, Daniel Cole, said: “It was amazing to see the residents join a host of wonderful animals as we all celebrated the home’s memorable milestone.
“The whole team worked hard to organize the event and I’m glad to say that their efforts were a great success – our birthday party will definitely be one that will be remembered for many years to come.
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone who makes Oakfield Croft a great place to call home, and to help make the day extra special.
“The last two years have certainly had its challenges, and I’m incredibly proud of the team’s efforts over the last 24 months to make life as comfortable as possible for the residents – as they have always aimed to do.
“We are very excited to see what lies ahead for the next two years and beyond.”
