Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, Chairman of the Labor Standards Development Authority, confirmed that the great success achieved in combating the Corona pandemic and the continuous efforts made to prevent the proliferation of workers in Sharjah, thanks to the joint efforts of all, have kept the working environment in Sharjah safe and decent.
It happened on the occasion of the celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which is celebrated in the country and globally on April 28 every year.
He emphasized the importance of the United Arab Emirates and Sharjah Government in promoting the concept of health and safety at work, and praised the laws and laws adopted by the State and Sharjah Government with a view to maintaining the safety and health of workers and providing them with a safe working environment. the most recent was the government’s decision on April 26 to specify 17 types of occupational injuries and occupational diseases.
In this regard, Yousef Al Qaseer praised the Sharjah Occupational Safety and Health System, which was released in 2021 as the first integrated occupational safety and health system in the country, in partnership between the Prevention and Safety Authority and the Labor Standards Development Authority.
He added: The authority’s awareness activities came under the generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Councilor and Ruler of Sharjah, and with direct follow-up from His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Vice-Ruler of Sharjah, and the Authority actively participated in the membership of each of the crisis management and emergency, Sharjah and the Labor Housing Inspection Committee, in coordination with the relevant public and private sector authorities in Sharjah.
