Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, said Monday that he is tired of “plans” regarding the migrant crisis at the southern border and wants a policy change from the Biden administration instead. Roy speculated on “America’s Newsroom” that the White House has released a “million” illegal immigrants to the United States over the past year, warning that the numbers will only get worse when Title 42 ends.
DEM REP. CUELLAR INVITES BIDEN ADMIN TO EXTEND SECTION 42: ‘WE MUST LISTEN TO BORDER COMMUNITIES’
REP. CHIP ROY: I will tell you what this administration is ready to do, which is to continue to release thousands of individuals to our country. The American people do not quite understand the volume we are talking about: probably over a million individuals released to the United States over the past year. Title 42 does not end there. When they finish Title 42 in May, those numbers will skyrocket. More people will be released, more people will rush to the border, more will flee, more fentanyl will come in and kill our children in schools. The answer to this is simple: Policy change. Enforce the law at the border, enforce section 42, but more than that, enforce the laws in the books to actually reject people and secure the border. I do not want another plan. I’m tired of plans and I’ve heard people on both sides of the aisle talking about plans. Today, I want to talk about policies that we can do right now to reject people and secure the border with the United States. That is what we demand of this administration.
