Rep. Madison Cawthorn quoted as having weapons against Charlotte Douglas – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE – Rep. Madison Cawthorn was quoted as having a gun at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Tuesday morning, three sources tell Channel 9.

According to the TSA, a 9mm pistol was discovered at Checkpoint D. The TSA refused to identify the person who had the gun.

A picture taken by Channel 9 shows that a charged Staccato C2 was found by Charlotte Douglas on Tuesday morning.

It is unclear whether Cawthorn will be charged with criminals. A spokeswoman for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department could not immediately comment.

This is not the first time a gun has been spotted on Cawthorn at an airport. In February 2021, the TSA found a 9mm pistol in Cawthorn’s cabin at Asheville Regional Airport. Cawthorn did not face any criminal charges against the incident.

The TSA found 106 guns at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in 2021.

A spokesman for Cawthorn did not respond to a request for comment.
