Olivia Wilde served legal custody papers with Jason Sudeikis at CinemaCon

The filmmaker was discussing his upcoming film “Don’t Worry Darling” at the entertainment industry convention as a woman approached the scene and handed her a manilla envelope, according to several reports from journalists present. (The film is distributed by Warner Bros., which shares a parent company with CNN.)

“We have never in the history of the Convention had an incident in which a delegate approached the scene who was not authorized to be there,” Mitch Neuhauser, CEO of CinemaCon, told CNN in a statement. “In light of this incident, we are reviewing our safety procedures to ensure the safety of all our participants.”

The envelope contained legal documents related to Wilde’s two children with her former fiancĂ©e, actor Jason Sudeikis, a source with knowledge of the case told CNN.

“Mr Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place where the envelope would have been delivered as this would be solely up to the process service company involved and he would never accept that she was served in such an inappropriate manner,” the source said. . .

CNN has contacted representatives of Wilde and Sudeikis for comment.

According to a report from People, Wilde asked, “Is this for me?” when she was handed the envelope. She then said she would “open it now because it feels like it’s a script.”

After opening the envelope, Wilde said “Okay, understood. Thank you” and continued his presentation.
