Naomi Judd inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame after death

Naomi Juddthe legacy lives on.

One day after the singer died at the age of 76, she and her daughter Wynonna Judd was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

During the ceremony in Nashville on May 1, Wynonna and sister Ashley Judd crying paid tribute to their deceased mother. “My mother loved you so much, and she appreciated your love for her, and I’m sorry she could not go on until today,” Ashley said in part, honoring Naomi. “Your respect for her and your respect for her really penetrated her heart, and it was your devotion to her that kept her going for the last few years.”

On April 30, Wynonna and Ashley came with the heartbreaking news that Naomi was dead.

“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease mental illness,” read the siblings’ statement, which was posted on Ashley’s social media. “We are crushed. We navigate in deep grief and know that when we loved her, she was loved by her audience. We are in unknown territory.”
