Moon Knight DP teases its return in the upcoming MCU project

In keeping with the Marvel Studios comics Knights of the Moon at Disney + has not shyed away from highlighting the nature of Marc Spector’s struggle with dissociative identity disorder. In addition to serving as the avatar of the Egyptian mood god, Khonshu, Spector’s second personality is Steven Grants; and from what fans have seen, the two are likely to discover a third personality before the show ends.

Throughout the first four episodes of the series, both fans and critics have praised Oscar Isaacs’ achievements as the two distinct personalities and the moments when the two talk to each other.

And although Oscar Isaac deserves recognition for his plural portrayals, the credit is also attributed to those behind the camera who are tasked with bringing Knights of the Moon‘s complex history for the screen; and apparently Marvel Studios does just that.

Moon Knight Cinematographers’ Future Plans at MCU

Knights of the Moon

In conversation with FilmSpeak, Knights of the Moon Director of Photography / Film Photographer Andrew Droz Palermo teased his upcoming return to MCU and said he is “was asked” of Marvel Studios on his potential MCU return for “few” upcoming projects, yet his schedule on other films / series has made it difficult for him to commit:

“I’ve been asked a few things. I can not say what. The timing has not been right for me yet. But I would love to do other Marvel things, I would love to have the chance to do it again. For me it’s always about the filmmaker who’s leading the ship, and because those are the people I’m with day in and day out for hours, so I really need to get excited and inspired, and also liked them personally It’s really important to me. “

Palermo, who served as photography director for Knights of the Moon‘s second and fourth episodes, is not the only crew member Marvel Studios has recruited for a future project.

Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead, who also directed episodes 2 and 4 of the series, have already signed on to direct season 2 of Loki to Disney +.

Although Palermo has not yet confirmed what Marvel Studios has addressed to him, he also has nothing but praise from Oscar Isaac and credits the actor for Knights of the Moonsuccess, admits, “If he did not perform well, the whole series would fail:”

“I have to give my hat off to Oscar because he was told. So much of the burden of the performance weighed on him. And if he did not do well, if he did not perform well, the whole series would fail. “

In terms of how he showcased Isaacs Steven and Marc’s communication, Palermo touched on the show’s frequent use of reflections, especially those shaped like a pyramid. In fact, this effort went so far that he and the crew became it “aware of them constantly” and it “Even Steven’s apartment is a pyramid-shaped constriction:”

“What I immediately went on was how often we tried to sneak into pyramid shapes in architecture or frame him in some sort of pyramid shape. It became like a joke for us just to point at pyramids. While we were scouting, [we became] so pay attention to them all the time … Even Steven’s apartment is a pyramid-shaped structure. ”

No “Laters Gators” for Moon Knight’s DP

While fans have certainly noticed Steven and Marc communicate via pyramid-shaped reflective surfaces, the use of the form is not only on the theme of Knights of the Moon‘s Egyptian motif, but it also represents Marc’s own issues. After all, pyramids have multiple sides, just like Marc.

Speaking of pages, Palermo’s work in section 4 of Knights of the Moon really showcased his selection in the form of movies; and now that fans know that Marvel Studios is looking to recruit him, the question is for which project?

Since his Knights of the Moon directors are linked to the series’ second season, the obvious answer would be season 2 of Loki. However, the fact that he is in talks with filmmaker David Lowery about a filming this summer seems to rule out that possibility.

The good news is that this is Marvel Studios, which means there are always other projects on the way. And while Palermo’s name does not appear in the credits for a 2023 MCU project, he and Marvel will have plenty of other options to reunite.
