Manchester United are reportedly interested in making a fantastic move after Brentford’s playmaker Christian Eriksen.

This has led to his adventurous return for the Danish international team, after his cardiac arrest during the European Championships last year.

Now it has been reported by the Daily Star that the Red Devils have shown interest in picking up Eriksen this summer.

Just this week, the club has confirmed the long-awaited news that Ajax coach Erik ten Hag will become their permanent manager at the end of the season.

A big turnaround in players is expected this summer, with Ten Hag expected to bring in some new faces to improve a faltering United squad.

It is said that he has put Eriksen on his transfer wish list and believes he would be a perfect signing to start his revolution with the Premier League giants.

Ten Hag got the chance to see Eriksen up close as the player spent time training with his Ajax outfit at the turn of the year while continuing his recovery after his cardiac arrest.

United’s next manager was thought to be hugely impressed with the quality of the former Tottenham midfielder – as did the rest of the players.

The Dutch club had considered repurchasing the player who left them for Tottenham in 2013, although there were fears of his ability to perform at the highest level again due to his medical condition.

Eriksen, who had to be revived after collapsing in Denmark’s match with Finland at the European Championships 2020, is now equipped with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator.

He has played seven games since his return to the Premier League and has helped push Brentford away from the relegation zone and now sits in 11th place – 12 points ahead of the bottom three.

United are not the only club to have been linked with Eriksen, as Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in bringing him back to Tottenham.

The Italian worked with Eriksen during his time as manager of Inter Milan.

Eriksen only signed a short-term contract with Brentford, so he will be free this summer if he decides to move on.
