Steven Gerrard. The best Premier League player who has never won the title, right?

Despite his apparent greatness in the English top class, Manchester United fans will never let him forget the fact that he failed to lift the trophy during his 17-year career in Liverpool’s first team.

United fans saw Gerrard’s ‘slip’ against Chelsea on repeat as their bitter rivals threw the league away in 2013/14 – and now Paul Scholes has been caught in the act of looking to comfort himself in Stevie G’s misery.

Gerrard was asked about Jose Mourinho’s defensive tactics during the Red Devils ‘goalless draw at Anfield at the weekend, and Scholes’ reaction to his response was invaluable.

“For someone who has not won the league, I see it more as a smart management and tactical spot on if you continue to win it,” BT Sport said pundit ahead of United’s clash with Benfica.

Scholes, the 11-time Premier League winner, seemed to be laughing when his former English team-mate claimed he never won, and the clip immediately went viral on Twitter.

See you, Scholesy. Next time, be a little more subtle.
