Louis Leterrier joins Fasx X as director

Louis Leterrier

My head is still spinning from the news of Justin Lin leaving Fast X, but we have an update! Louis Leterrier, known for directing The Transporter films, joins the production! The good news comes from Variety and reads as follows:

Louis Leterrier (“The Incredible Hulk”, the first two “Transporter” films) will take over the director’s chair on “Fast X” from Justin Lin, Variety have learned. The decision comes less than a week after Lin’s surprising departure from the helm in the 10th part of the main film “Fast and Furious”.

Leterrier, which beat several candidates for the job, per source, is Universal Pictures’ first choice, and schedules are still being set.

I have to admit, this is a pretty great replacement. I wonder what kind of influence he can have on the production now that he is involved. In addition to his experience with The Transporter films, he is also the director of Now you see Me, Clash of the Titans and more.

I think he is a really good director who fits well with the franchise. We’re learning that one of the reasons for Justin Lin’s departure is Vin Diesel’s behavior on the spot. ScreenRant reports the news on Vin Diesel and shares:

“I’ve never seen anything like it. Lin gives up $ 10 or $ 20 million. Diesel shows up late for the set. He does not know his lines. And he shows up out of shape.”

That’s all I have for this one. I will keep you updated.
