Live updates: The Derby ring road closed after a car crashed into a headlight

Police have closed the Derby ring road tonight after a car crashed into a lamppost, leaving three people injured. According to Derbyshire Fire and Rescue, firefighters, police and ambulance crews are on the scene in Warwick Avenue, Normanton.

Rescue services were called to the incident just after 7.15pm. There are believed to be three injured, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue confirmed.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue said: “Crews from Kingsway and Ascot Drive were involved in an RTC (road traffic collision) on Warwick Avenue, Normanton. A car involved collided with a lamppost.

“There are three injured. Crews worked with police, ambulance and highways. Warwick Road is closed off Burton Road.”
