Legislators are preparing to tackle more aid to Ukraine in the transition to long-term support

WASHINGTON lawmakers said they were ready to quickly approve another package that financed weapons and financial assistance to Ukraine as the United States transitioned to a long-term commitment to support Kiev to avert Russia’s invasion.

Earlier this year, Congress approved $ 13.6 billion in military, humanitarian and economic assistance to Ukraine as part of a broader spending law. As the war continues to rage, the White House is expected to send a supplementary request to Congress for another multibillion-dollar aid package by the end of the week, aides and lawmakers said.
