K-Pop intern Beoman reacting to haters.
Beoman is a Chinese-American rapper student under FM entertainment. He is a member of the pre-debut group called MONT Arena.
Although he hasn’t officially made his debut yet, you may already know Beomhan as he toured the US as a soloist last year Jay Chang. They frequented K-Pop festivals and events, worked as baristas and waiters, as well as performed as part of their Kpop Rookie Trainee Show.
Recently, they have been back in Korea and recently released a song together titled “THE AWAKENING.”
Beoman especially lives on ours TikTok FYPs. He regularly hosts live broadcasts on social media, including the video sharing app and Twitch. Both Jay and he also have their own TikTok accounts and often participate in trends.
I can totally relate 😅

Beomhan has become famous for his charisma and cheerful personality, especially through social media. Still, he has not gone without criticism.
Some K-Pop fans criticize Beomhan as it seems that he is more active on social media than actually training and pursuing his K-Pop career.
beomhan more like he a BEOM! Give him some job applications

Such comments became more frequent last week after one of his live broadcasts. He faced backlash after making controversial statements about dating in the K-Pop industry.
Many as trainees and idols… they do [date] anyway, which I honestly think is kind of messed up and it’s really unfair to the fans, in my opinion…
— Beauman
because no actual SANE idol would say something like HE HAS TO BE DICKRIDING TO PLEASE HIS FANS pic.twitter.com/qwc3elWZrg

Beomhan stated that he felt idols should refrain from dating. This belief echoed the toxic fandom culture that if an idol dates, they are “cheating” or “betraying” fans.
I don’t think idols should be dating because it’s like… even though it’s not like an actual relationship, you have a connection with the fans and it’s literally like you’re kind of betraying that and going after their back. Imagine you pay $200 to go to…an idol’s concert, and that idol pays $200 to buy gifts for like their boyfriend. Don’t you think it’s so messy? Isn’t that crazy?
— Beauman
Despite the negative reaction and criticism that Beomhan has faced recently, several fans have come to his defense. They explain that his live broadcasts have good intentions, he works very hard, and he often says and does things because of his ADHD.
“i love beomhan but…” if you loved him you wouldn’t shit on him. if you loved him you would support the song he has worked countless hours, sleepless nights on and not tear him down. I don’t think you know what support means.

someone who calls Beomhan annoying clearly has never seen happiness before like – he is literally himself ?? He’s a teenage boy… being himself… is that wrong? he’s more real than half the idols out there 😭

Some of you must remember that Beomhan has ADHD and it will cause him to be hyper and energetic. I’ve seen so many people on tt and twt saying he’s loud and annoying and over energetic but he can’t help it he can’t help the fact he has ADHD he didn’t choose to be on this manner

Now Beomhan himself has addressed the criticism in an Instagram Live.
Regardless of what I believe about myself, I like said about other people in a way that just wasn’t nice. I thought, ‘Oh, it’s messed up for them to do this.’
— Beauman
Beomhan personally apologized for his controversial statements about trainees and idol dating. He promised to be more careful in how he worded things in the future.
But it’s like, who am I to say anything about their lives? Right? So I apologize and I’m very sorry… I can see where… like there’s a lesson for me and in the future I’ll be more careful how I word things.
— Beauman
He also explained that his opinion at the time was probably based on the education he had received in the K-Pop industry. As a result, he projected and realized it was wrong.
And it was also just a bad opinion, like you learn certain things when you go into this business and you’re told certain things and I let that project onto other people. So I apologize for that, and I’m sorry for how I phrased it. I’m sorry about my L-thank you.
— Beauman
Beomhan continued the live broadcast to further address the additional hate and criticism he had received recently. Over the past week, he has been attacked for everything from his hyper personality to his looks.
But yeah, there are certain things that I’d also like to talk about beyond that, where like first of all, because of that, we’ve gotten a lot of hate. …I think, honestly… It’s fine. Because regardless of the mean things you have to say about me… like because of this, people made fun of the way I looked, people made fun of my family, people made fun of my fans.
— Beauman
Throughout the live broadcast, Beomhan tried to laugh off the hatred he had seen directed at him. He claimed it was fine because he had already said all the same things to himself before so it didn’t affect him that much. This included saying some things about hating himself.
And that’s fine, whatever you said about me, I’ve probably already said to myself. If you hate me and before this incident you thought you were alone, you’re not because I also hate myself and I think it’s a common thing here that everyone knows. If you hate me, that’s okay. Whatever you have to say about me, my looks or whatever, I know it and I’ve said it to myself.
— Beauman
Nevertheless, he called people out for sending hate to his fans. He wishes people would stop at him and leave his fans alone.
Where I kind of drew that line though, or where I thought I drew that line, was when you started coming up to my fans and started making fun of my fans for having tattoos of us like that or like “You’re a Beomhan stan?’
— Beauman
In addition, Beomhan responded to the accusations that he does not train and only does live broadcasts.
And they’re like ‘Yo, when does this guy even work out? I’ve never seen this guy dance.’ I do not sleep.
— Beauman
He explained his sleeping schedule and how it allows him to both exercise and social media. However, it only results in a few hours of sleep.
I do not sleep. I wake up at 9? 8 or 9, to get ready for these lives, AM. I write at 7. And until I write at 7:00, I work out, practice, work out or something. So 3 to 4 days a week I sleep less than 2 hours? Highest.
— Beauman
Beomhan claimed that it is all by his own choice. He will do the live broadcasts for fans.
Just so I can be here and make these lives for you. And that’s not a complaint; it is by choice. I choose to do this because I love you.
— Beauman
While social media has been a great platform that has helped Beomhan and Jay grow their fandoms, unfortunately with it comes haters as popularity grows. So he expressed his frustrations with how so many clips of his live broadcasts are circulating and being taken out of context.
But it’s kind of like… these platforms take things out of context and you guys really don’t know anything… and neither do I, and that’s why I said what I said was wrong. But you have no idea.
— Beauman
Earlier this year, Beomhan was subjected to a homophobic and racist attack while in New York City. Likewise, when he talked about it, he tried to laugh it off, which created more concerns among fans.
