Jerusalem..injuries in clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police in al-Aqsa

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Palestinian Red Crescent announced on Friday that dozens of people were injured in a confrontation between Palestinians and Israeli police in the courtyard of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

Israeli authorities said they were responding to “hundreds of rioters and offenders” involved in inciting violent unrest.

It is noteworthy that this happens on the last Friday of Ramadan at the site known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims like Haram al-Sharif, which overlooks the square of the Western Wall.

The Red Crescent accused Israeli forces of preventing its crews from entering the area at the beginning of the confrontations, which took place after the dawn prayer, pointing out that “one of its crews was wounded and beaten.”

Police later said they arrested two people, one accused of throwing stones and the other suspected of inciting.
