Helen Skelton’s estranged husband is said to have gone on holiday with his new love interest just days after the news of their split surfaced, it has been reported.
Countryfile host, 38, announced last week that she is no longer a couple with her husband, Rugby League star Richie Myler, 31, with whom she shares three children.
After reports surfaced that Richie ‘is in the very early stages of a relationship’ with a new one, insiders have since claimed he looked past the family home last week to pick up his passport.
“He said he was going on vacation,” an insider has claimed. ‘It is believed he has taken his new lady so they can be out of the public eye.
‘Helen keeps it well together, which is admirable when she was blinded by his new relationship.’
The source continued to The Sun: ‘Mutual friends think he has treated her horribly.
‘It’s a shock to them that he has moved so soon after she announced that the marriage was over.’
Helen announced last week that she and her husband ‘are no longer a couple’.
The Blue Peter star announced the news in a post on her Instagram stories, writing: ‘Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple.
‘He has left the family home. We want to do our best to be parents to our young children. ‘
Helen and Richie have three children – sons Ernie and Louis, and daughter Elsie Kate, who was born in December last year.
It is not known what caused the split.
Talking to Hi! the magazine in January said Helen: ‘I was convinced I should have a girl. Now I totally embrace the pink. With a rugby player and two wild boys, my world is full of testosterone. ‘
The couple married in December 2013. Sources have since claimed that it is unlikely that Helen and Richie will be reconciledand says, ‘It’s so sad, but friends do not think there is a way back for them.
‘She’s really sorry. Friends are really worried about her, but unfortunately there is no going back. ‘
Richie has not yet commented on the split.
