Here are your Manchester United morning headlines for Tuesday, April 26:
Fred suggests Manchester United return
Fred appears to have confirmed he is back in Manchester United training with a post on Instagram.
United have struggled to do without Fred – the engine in their midfield – since suffering an injury to his hip flexor against Everton in early April. The Toffees won that match with the Brazilian off the pitch and there have been two more losses in the three matches he has missed since, to Liverpool and Arsenal.

Even that match United managed to win without Fred, against the bottom of Norwich City, they did so only by the skin of their teeth after throwing an advantage with two goals away. It is clear how much Ralf Rangnick has missed him in his midfield and the German will hope that Fred will be able to play a role in the last four games of the campaign.

Ten Hag receives Ronaldo’s advice
Dutch legend Marco van Basten has given advice to future Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag about star forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 37-year-old’s return to the Premier League has divided both fans and experts. Despite constant criticism of the Portuguese captain, he has often proved to be the match winner for United, with two hat-tricks as well as firing in his 100th Premier League goal in the defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.
His future at Old Trafford has been up for debate since his arrival, and some have suggested he will not fit into Ten Hag’s system next season. However, Van Basten disagrees with the proposal that he should leave. He said: “If Ronaldo continues to play as he did last week (against Norwich) and scores two or three goals in a match on a regular basis, there is no reason to take him out of the team.
