OHIO TRUMP RALLY: PREVIOUS PRESIDENT SUPPORT MAY BE ‘PROMOTE VANCE TO VICTORY’, INDICATING THE POWER OF HIS SUPPORT
Trump’s visit to the state comes after his approval of Ohio Senate candidate JD Vance. The former president supported Vance for the GOP Senate nomination in Ohio after top candidates jockeyed for his support for several months. Rivals Mike Gibbons, Jane Timken and Josh Mandel – all advised and approved by at least some regulars from the Trump world – sparred with Vance and each other about whose support for Trump was more genuine.
The event was scheduled to include speeches from Vance and Rep. Mike Carey, R-Ohio, as well as congressional candidates Max Miller and Madison Gesiotto Gilbert. The announced speakers have all received a Trump approval.
“On the way to Ohio for a big rally tonight, a big crowd,” Trump said in one announcement before the event. “See you there!”
