Public Enemy co-founder Flavor Flav was arrested for domestic battery charges earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now his lawyer is speaking out on the charges and promises the rapper will be heard.
According to TMZ, a criminal complaint from October 5 states that the 62-year-old is accused of stabbing a woman in the nose, throwing her down and grabbing her phone. It is unknown if Flav knew the victim.
The Henderson Police Department reserved Flav, born William Drayton Jr., and he was charged with misdemeanor constituting domestic violence.
David Chesnoff, Flav’s lawyer, told TMZ: “In cases of alleged domestic violence, there are often 2 sides to the story and we will explain our side in the courtroom and not in the media.”
Flav has not issued a public statement on his arrest. On Tuesday (October 19), however, he celebrated a year of sobriety, tweeting“1 year back ,,, there is a lot left ,,, next year I pray that my whole family will go the same way as me.”
