Firefighters tackle 8th grass fire on days in Glebe Farm area of ​​Yardley

Firefighters have tackled a major grass fire in the Glebe Farm area of ​​Yardley. Crews from Sheldon Fire Station were called to the incident shortly before 2pm today (Sunday).

Sheldon Fire Station says it is the eighth incident it has attended in the last few days, and blames young people for having started the fires deliberately. Witnesses have seen a number of young people deliberately set fire to the park area.

Sheldon Fire Station took to Twitter, where they posted a picture of firefighters tackling the fire using snakes. The picture shows a burnt grass area.

They wrote: “Red guards currently handling a major grass fire in Glebe Farm. This is the 8th incident here in as many days for Sheldon crews; reports have seen a number of young people deliberately set fire repeatedly in the park area.”
