Jack Sweeney, 19, runs the controversial Elon Musk Jet account, which boasts over 400,000 followers.

The account is one of several run by Sweeney, who keeps an eye on high-flying, including Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, using publicly available data on all flights in the air.

On April 14, after learning about Musk’s first bid to buy the social media giant, Sweeney tweeted, “Oh no. Probably good for Twitter, but probably not me lol.”

Now, fans of the tech tycoon are wondering if Musk will close a teenager’s account after initially rejecting a $ 5,000 buyout from Telsa CEO.

An hour before the news of Musk and Twitter’s deal broke out, Sweeney said he was unsure what the future holds for the jet tracking account.

“An update on Elon Musk & @ElonJet, it’s still unknown if Elon would shut down ElonJet if he took over Twitter,” Sweeney tweeted.

Fans of the technology mogul dragged the teenager, saying he was one of “the reasons Musk bought Twitter.”

“You’re one of the reasons he wants to buy Twitter 😂 @elonmusk @Tesla @SpaceX,” one person wrote.

Another person tweeted: “It would be so funny if that became the whole reason he spent so much money on Twitter.”

“I think it’s a sure bet he wants. I would go so far as to say this is why he’s buying it 😂,” another person replied to Sweeney.

Prior to the official acquisition, Musk said he hoped even his “worst critics will stay on Twitter, because that’s what freedom of speech means.”

Sweeney looked at Musk’s tweet as a sign of hope for his jet-tracking account.

“His latest tweet seems to make it seem to stay, but if he’s considering it
“ElonJet a security risk instead of a critic, then I’m probably gone, “the teenager tweeted.

MUSK NOT IMPRESSED

Musk was not impressed when he found out that a 19-year-old had developed a Twitter bot to keep track of his private plane’s movements.

In late January, Protocol reported that Musk sent the teenager a DM, asking him to remove the account, describing it as a “security risk.”

Musk was afraid that a “nutcase” would shoot out of the sky.

“Can you take it down? It’s a security risk,” he apparently pleaded.

The teenager replied, “Yes, I can, but it will cost you a Model 3 that only jokes, unless?”

After a few messages back and forth, Musk asked how much Sweeney earned from running the account.

When he revealed that it did not earn him more than $ 20 a month, the world’s richest man made a paltry offer of $ 5,000 to delete the account.

The teenager pushed for more and demanded an extra zero in the end.

“Is there any chance of up to $ 50,000?” he said.

“It would be great support in college and would possibly allow me to get a car, maybe even a Model 3.”

Musk bounced back that he would think about it, but Sweeney never heard back from the billionaire.

‘NO WITHDRAWALS’

Despite being in danger of having his account closed, Sweeney told The US Sun that he “has no regrets not taking” Musk’s first $ 5,000 buyout.

Asked how he feels about Musk’s Twitter takeover, the teenager said he was “a little worried, but not a whole lot considering his free speech comments.”

But if he is eventually thrown out of Twitter, Sweeney said he will take his tracking talents to other social media platforms like Discord and will soon release a Telegram channel for Elon Jet.
