There is a chance that for the first time ever, no player who regularly touches the ball will be taken in the first 10 picks of the draft. Such a player, who appears to be on his way to landing in the top 10, would get there even after tearing an ACL in January.

According to a league source, Alabama’s Jameson Williams is considered a player who will be a very high choice.

It all comes back to raw speed. He is considered to have the kind of speed that only gets into the league once every 5-7. year.

The window may open for Williams all the way up to No. 4 if the Jets want him, but fear he will not be there at No. 10. Of course, New York’s interest in Williams will depend on whether the Jets trade for Deebo Samuel.

The Falcons could face Williams as No. 8. The Seahawks, who love to trade down, could give up No. 9 spot to someone like the Chiefs or Packers before the Jets take Williams as No. 10.

There is no telling how high Williams would go, except for the cracked ACL. For now, however, there is no reason to believe that it will affect him. It could result in Williams ending up being taken much earlier than anyone knows.

PointsBet has Williams at +110 odds of being taken in the top 10. He is +2000 to get into the top five.
