Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks in an incredible Manchester derby as City beat United 6-3 at the Etihad.

Despite conceding six, the scoreline was quite flattering for the Red Devils, who scored their first when they were already four goals behind, while Anthony Martial came off the bench to score two more consolation goals.

Haaland and Foden were the stars of the show, with the Norwegian continuing his tremendous record since arriving in the Premier League over the summer, and Foden relishing his new relationship with the striker.

The centre-forward has now scored 14 goals in just eight Premier League games and while he tried to play down the performances a bit, he sounds excited to be part of a fierce City side.

“Not bad,” Haaland said of the game. ‘We scored six goals, what can you say? It’s great, win at home, score six goals, it’s great!

‘You can feel it all the time, you see the passes we give each other. We always want to move forward, we always want to attack. That’s what I love about the team, we always want to go and attack. It’s fantastic, there’s nothing more to say.’

Foden took his own tally to five Premier League goals for the campaign so far, well on course to beat his best tally of nine in a season.

He loves his link-up with Haaland and how quickly they have built a winning relationship.

“Me and Erling have built that connection now, we are finding each other. It has been a pleasure to be part of the team, said the England international.

“Our determination from kick-off, we looked at it right and we finished our chances.”
