AJMAN, 27 April / WAM / Last year saw an increase in the total number of certificates of origin issued by the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry reaching 33,175 certificates compared to 25,682 during the year 2020 with a growth rate of 29%.
The total value of certificates of origin issued by the Ajman Chamber over the past year amounted to 9.470 billion dirhams compared to 4.763 billion dirhams in the previous year, with a growth rate of 99%. The value of export products reached 1.809 billion dirhams, compared to 1.369 billion dirhams, an increase of 32%, reflecting the growing business over the past year and the increase in trades made by the establishments of members of the Ajman Chamber.
Muhammad Ali Al-Janahi, Acting Director General of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, revealed that the industrial companies peaked in terms of the value of the exported products according to data on certificates of origin in the Ajman Chamber during the year 2021, so that the industrial companies’ products amounted to 82 % of total exports from the private sector in 2021 with a growth rate of 29% compared to 2020.
Al-Janahi explained that the products from ships and boats came in first place in exports from the Emirate of Ajman to outside the country, while fish products came in second place.
The Acting Director-General of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that the share of Ajman exports to the top 10 countries during the year 2021 was about 65% of the total value of exported goods, as the United States is one of the largest countries , to which it was exported during the year 2021 with a relative importance of 15%. Saudi Arabia followed with a relative importance of 13%; The Arab Republic of Egypt came in third with a relative importance of 8% of total exports.
Al Janahi reaffirmed the Ajman Chamber’s eagerness to develop an annual plan to strengthen its external cooperation with countries around the world and to conduct events and forums that bring together business owners from Ajman and their counterparts from countries to discuss partnership and collaboration opportunities and increase volume. and bodies dealing with economic affairs and concluding agreements supporting the discovery of new foreign markets for products from Emirates Ajman.
