Emily Compagno blows up Washington Post writer’s ‘deeply offensive’ remarks that downplay inflation

“Undertal” co-host Emily Compagno called Washington Post columnist Michelle Singletary’s advice on inflation “deeply offensive” after the author told Americans to “stop complaining” about rising prices. Compagno invited Singletary to visit his family’s winery, a small business they run, to see for themselves the cost increase and how it is affecting American family businesses.

EMILY COMPANY: My family has a small business that you know, and it’s an agricultural business. And the idea from this Washington Post columnist, Miss Singletary there, that we’re somehow complaining that we have overblown or over-inflated pain which we experience as a small business, trying to make ends meet and trying to get paid is so deeply out of touch and so deeply offensive. I invite her to come out to the vineyard. I invite her to come out and get a tour and look at how many things we have to buy on a monthly basis to maintain and comply with environmental regulations and state and federal regulations. Where have these costs definitely increased. And do you know what we have refused to do? Passes that cost on to the consumer. … We do not pass it on to the consumer because, unlike those in contrast to this White House, we respect our fellow Americans and we know they are going through a tough time too.
