Issam Kazim, CEO of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai, said the emirate hopes the number of international visitors this year will be higher than the figure achieved in 2021 by 7.28 million visitors.

Kazem said during a press conference hosted by the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai on Tuesday that Russia will continue to be an important market for tourism and Dubai will remain open to Russian tourists.

Dubai will host the Arab Travel Market from 9 to 12 May 2022 with the participation of 1,500 exhibitors from more than 112 countries and an expected participation of more than 20,000 visitors.

Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer for Emirates Airlines, said for his part that the airline operates 2,475 departure flights across its network per week, while more than 170 passenger flights depart from Dubai Airport daily.

Adnan Kazim reiterated that Emirates Airlines is taking up 70% of its capacity in the pre-pandemic period and that it aims to service 100% of the previous production capacity for the epidemic next year, revealing that flights between Dubai and Indian destinations operate with an average. 95% occupancy.

According to Kazem, Emirates Airlines will operate 80% of its previous production capacity for the epidemic by the end of summer 2022, while hoping to reach 85% of its previous capacity for the epidemic during the next winter season.
