DreamDoll is Misunderstood – LA Weekly

DreamDoll is misunderstood: Bronx rapper and reality star DreamDoll has released a new mixtape Life in plastic 3and a new video for “Misunderstood.”

According to the press release, “Misunderstood” finds “the artist opening up about her past over emotional piano chords. “You grow up like this, it’s only right to be heartless,” she spits. “You have to learn fast: take a shot or be the target. ” The song’s introspective tone is reflected in the accompanying video, which stars DreamDoll walking the streets of New York in a plastic bubble—revealing everything about herself while still keeping her distance from the world around her. Like an astronaut who finds meaning while they flow through space, she raps from her protective cocoon, thinking deeply as she observes the world around her.”

It’s a fascinating video where DreamDoll’s naked self wanders the streets in a bubble, seemingly oblivious. to everything that goes on around her while she raps the autobiographical narrative.

Life in plastic 3 also includes the French Montana-assisted hit ‘Ice Cream Dream’ as well as raucous party jams like ‘Ass For Days’ and Twerk School’,” reads the release. “When she’s not dropping her own songs, DreamDoll is an in-demand feature artist, recently appearing on Kash Doll’s ‘ABOW’ and King Combs’ ‘Gas You Up’.”
