Diddy reacts to Kanye West’s White Lives Matter shirt

IDK about you, but I’m one of the many people who got completely mad at Kanye West last weekend after he rocked a White Lives Matter shirt — but one prominent person stands by him: the fellow rapper and the entrepreneur Diddy.

This morning Diddy showed up The Breakfast Club and defended Kanye amid all the criticism he has received.

“Kanye, my boy, is a super, super, super free thinker,” Diddy said, echoing what Kanye has said about himself in the past in defense of other controversies. “And many times what he means is misunderstood.”

Charlamagne Tha God stopped him right there, saying Diddy needed to stop making excuses for Kanye (!!!), to which he replied, “I don’t make excuses. I’m just saying that if he did that’s how he thinks.”

“And I understand that white lives matter, but it doesn’t,” Diddy continued. “That was our slogan. It wasn’t our slogan to share with anyone else.”

“That’s the only message,” Diddy added. “We don’t have to condemn Kanye or cancel him. It doesn’t have to go crazy. But at the same time, you have to understand your actions.”

Diddy said that because of that, he has decided to hold off on releasing a shirt he intended to honor Kanye. “I still want to do it,” he said. “I just need a few days to get over this T-shirt because right now we’re the ones who are dying, who are imprisoned, that [live] in poverty, no money for compensation and on top of that our society is flooding with drugs and guns. And we know all this and they still don’t try to cut us off.”

Diddy said that this should be the focus and that there is “no time for unnecessary noise from [Kanye] or Candace Owens” — signaling that he might not be entirely on board with Kanye’s decision after all.
