“Roberto has masterfully crafted a story of human devotion that we can all relate to.” Said Dark Star President Michael Repsch. “This heartwarming film connects us more than ever before when we get over the pandemic, and really shows the importance of connection.”

The film is written and directed by Roberto Doveris, whose feature film debuted The plants previously won the Grand Prix at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film is produced by Niña Niño Films (Venice IFF Queer Lion Winner Prince, potential victim, (im) patient) and is represented for worldwide sales of the German outfit Patra Spanou Film.

“This is really exciting. I made this film with my best at home in a very harsh time with quarantines and social distance, and it’s great to see how far this story goes now,” Doveris said. “The film really captures all my thoughts and obsessions about movies, like mixing genres with amazing elements, the sexual exploration, the pop culture of the XXI century, the portrait of the LGBTQ community and, specifically because of the pandemic, a nostalgia for human connections and human emotions. I really think the American audience will connect with the Phantom Project. “

Dark Star Pictures president Michael Repsch negotiated the deal with Patra Spanou on behalf of the filmmakers.
