Cyclist, 13, dies tragically after collision with car in Northfield

A 13-year-old boy who was critically injured while cycling in Northfield is tragically dead. The bike he was riding was in a collision with a car on Groveley Lane, Northfield, around 8.15pm last Friday, April 22nd.

West Midlands Police have today (Sunday) confirmed that he died last night (Saturday). His family is backed by West Midlands Police specialists.

The force says the family asked police not to share details about their son, including his name or photo, and that they are left to mourn privately. The driver of the car stopped and stayed on the spot.

The force says he continues to assist with the police investigation and has not been arrested. Police are working to determine exactly what happened and are asking people to get in touch if they have information.

Detective Paul Hughes of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “It is absolutely tragic that this young boy is dead and we are doing everything we can to find out what happened. It is impossible to fully understand that grief. , the family must experience.Please respect their request for privacy.
