Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United exit the defense of Mark Goldbridge

He wants to play in the Champions League and is in doubt about United’s ability to challenge great honors in the next few years.

Ronaldo believes he has ‘three or four’ more years at the elite level, and Mark Goldbridge of The United Stand has taken a stand against supporters frustrated by the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Goldbridge believes anger should be directed at United’s hierarchy and owners, the Glazer family, after years of complacency.

“We have embarrassed ourselves,” he declared. “I do not think many fans, I do not think the club itself realizes what a massive embarrassment this is. One of the club’s legends comes back in a year, sees how bad it is and says, ‘You know what, that here is ‘t Manchester United.’ “

“And anyone who says that shows that he’s not a legend because he does not want to stay and fight, wait a minute. Do not pretend to be the idiot you just have. How can you say Ronaldo does not love this club if he wants to leave?

“He does not recognize this club. Just as you do not recognize this club.”

Ronaldo returned to United last summer, scoring 24 goals in all competitions, 18 of which were in the Premier League.

However, it was a disastrous season for the Red Devils and they finished in sixth place with 58 points, their lowest number in the Premier League era.

Goldbridge continued: “We all love Manchester United. Ronaldo loves Manchester United and he certainly loves you, the fans. He plays under people who own the club he does not recognize. Who he knows is not ambitious. Glazers owns Manchester United Not you, not Ronaldo, Glazers owns Manchester United and shows no ambition.

“Cristiano Ronaldo loves Manchester United and he certainly loves you, the fans, but he sees it day after day behind closed doors, what a mess it is.

“Believe me, behind closed doors, that club is an absolute joke. Within every department, there are people who would confirm it if they were not afraid of losing their jobs.

“Cristiano Ronaldo has been sitting there over the summer and going ‘What is this club doing?’, Just like you did.”

Chelsea are said to be interested in a deal and Bayern Munich have also been linked.
