New Orleans police and firefighters also helped with the search.

Fox 8 Live reported that the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority closed the Canal Street / Algiers ferry in the middle of the search. The ferry had to run for a long time to accommodate large crowds that participated in the French Quarter Festival, but as the crews searched the water, shuttle buses instead transported riders between the east and west shores.
